Silverbarb Fish (Puti) is a freshwater fish. Usually they live in general – both in rivers, canals, marshes where are in the local area of Thailand. They can be found in all regions of Thailand. Silverbarb Fish is a fish that is very popular for consumption and brought to be raised as beautiful fish. They have flat body shape, color glitter. The back is slightly darkened. The ventral side is lighter, the other fins are light yellow. They have many bones. Can be used for cooking, such as boiled with salt fish, sun-dried fish, or pickled fish (Pla Som).
